Our Main Charities

The District Grand Lodge has three main charitable projects and these are as follows:-

THE DISTRICT BOARD OF BENEVOLENCE:
Under the guidance of the President of the District Board of Benevolence, the Board reviews petitions sent to it by the Lodges in the District for relief in both Masonic and non-Masonic circumstances.

THE JAMAICA MASONIC BENEVOLENCE ASSOCIATION:
This Association seeks to aid indigent Freemasons, their families and dependents. It is jointly sponsored and supported by the English, Irish and Scottish Constitutions.

THE NATIONAL CHILDREN'S HOME:
The District takes a special interest in this institution for homeless children.

In addition to supporting these charities, individual Lodges have their own outreach programs for the benefit of hospitals, schools and community projects in their immediate vicinities with a special emphasis on charities which benefit children generally.

"..and the greatest of these is charity."

Real joy comes not from riches or the praise of men but from doing something worth while
